A parent or parents have been sent to a hospital, away from their home, away from their friends and family, and are now in the NICU with their child. The NICU is an overwhelming place between all the machines, the medical terminology, and people in and out of the room with your child. Whether or not it was planned, they likely forgot something, or they wish they had something.
NICU Survival Kits are thoughtfully curated packages designed to provide comfort, convenience, and essential resources to parents of newborns admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. These kits often include practical items such as toiletries, snacks, notebooks, water bottles with water flavoring and pens for jotting down important information or journaling experiences. They also contain emotional support materials like inspirational notes, and stress-relief items.. By addressing both the physical and emotional needs of parents during this challenging time, NICU Survival Kits offer a tangible expression of care and solidarity, helping families navigate their NICU journey with a bit more ease and comfort.
We have donated over 1,850 NICU kits between 5 different hospitals for moms and dads at Sacred Heart Medical Center and Deaconess Hospital both in Spokane, Washington, Kootenai County Hospital in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, St Luke's in Boise, Idaho and Logan Health in Kalispell, Montana!
In August we expanded our NICU Survival Kit and Crochet Octopi Programs into Logan Health in Kalispell, Montana!
Early in 2025 we will be expanding into Missoula, Montana!
